CONFUSED VERSES
Joseph Odinikpo Ezeudu
Here we want to look at some scriptures that if not properly explained leads to confusion in the hearts of some.
1. For those using the Kings James Version, in the nine gifts of the Holy Spirit as recorded in 1 Corinthians 12:8-10 and in the nine fruit of the Spirit as contained in Galatians 5:22, we have the word FAITH appearing in both. Faith as in the gift means believing God for the extra-ordinary while the other Faith means fruitfulness.
2. Also in the book of John 10:8, Jesus said that all that ever came before him are thieves and robbers. He was not condemning those people that came to do the work of God before his time but rather he was referring to the Sadduces and Pharisees that were present/at his front (before).
3.In Matthew 18:19 we were told that if the two of you shall agree as to touching one thing, it shall be done on to you. Some has tried this before and it did not work. The reason is that that verse does not say that you should any time you have a problem, go grab a brother or sister and say let us agree on this. That scripture works when you are sharing your problem or need with someone and the Holy Spirit ministers to the two of you in your hearts to pray about the matter.
4. In the bible (Galantians 2:16) we were told that we do not need works to be saved (converted) and in Philippians 2:12 we are told that we need works for the same. The truth about these scriptures is that you do not need works to be converted) but you have to have work to maintain your conversion after you are "saved" by grace.
