Why a "non-Christian"
for the Lord Jesus Christ?

Since July 31, 2001 when I withdrew my membership from the Foursquare Gospel Church, Amukoko Branch, several people have queried my denouncing the Christian religion. I have tried my best with words of mouth to answer why God took me out of that religion. As God would have it, two days ago in the month of August 2001, as I sat in a bus ride to the office, the Lord spoke so many reasons to me. My not having pen and paper at that moment made it impossible for me to jot down all I heard Him say. I could only recollect these few a day after.

I hope these will answer some of your questions if not all. If you do not believe in any of them, there is no harm. If you would like us to seat and look at the bible to see which of them is wrong, I am willing to do that with you.

Here are the reasons:

  • To be in Christian denomination is to be in the mix of the sheep and the goat. John 10:3 says "To him the porter openeth; and The Sheep Hear His Voice: And He Calleth His Own Sheep By Name, And Leadeth Them Out. And verse 14 says "I am the good shepherd, and know my sheep, and am known of mine."

  • Christianity teaches that the born again experience and the baptism with the holy Spirit with the evidence of speaking in tongues are two different experiences. This I do not believe because the Bible teaches that the baptism with the holy Spirit with the evidence of speaking in tongues is the new birth (born again). At least it is plainly stated in Romans 8:9 that “but ye are not in the flesh, but in the Spirit, if so be that the Spirit of God dwell in you. Now if any man have not the Spirit of Christ, he is none of his.” Read John 3:1-8 and compare verses 6 and 8 there with the incident in Acts 2:1-4 and you will see what I mean.

  • I do not believe that Christ came from the Father to this earth, died, was buried and resurrected to bring religion (Christianity and others). He went through those processes as ordained for Him in order for us to have access to the Father by baptizing us into His Body by His Father’s Spirit. He said it clearly in John 16:7 “Nevertheless I tell you the truth; It is EXPEDIENT for you that I go away: for if I go not away, the Comforter will not come unto you; but if I depart, I will send him unto you.” He further said in John 10:10 “The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy: I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly.” The life of God to man is His Spirit and that is what Jesus died for us to obtain which in turn will guide us in all truth.

  • Christians do not know that the call of God in Revelation 18:4 "come out of her" is not a call for men to come out of the world but for God's children baptised with the holy Spirit with the evidence of speaking in tongues to come out of the religion of Christianity and follow the Spirit of their Father.

  • I am not of the Christian religion because I do not believe that the Bible is the Word of God. I know that God's Voice through His Spirit in Me is His Word. I know the Bible to be God's Book, the Scripture which we read to see examples of men and women who had ran the race in the past and learn from their successes or failures. Have you ever seen John 1:1 rendered this way “In the beginning was the Bible, and the Bible was with God, and the Bible was God.” It says “In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.” Think about it.

  • I am no longer a Christian because in the Bible book of 2 Corinthians 5:16 that it is wrong to know any man including Christ ANY MORE after the flesh (ceremonies and ordinances) but through His Spirit. Here is what it says: “Wherefore henceforth know we no man after the flesh: yea, though we have known Christ after the flesh, yet now henceforth know we him no more.”

  • I am not a Christian because to be one, I need to belong to a denomination. Denominations are another word for divisions. Divisions are signs of what God has cursed already. Remember the example of the tower builders in Genesis 11:7-9?

  • For me to be a Christian will mean that I have to believe that the Church is a building. The only Church I know is Jesus and His living Born Again believers. In the past, temples are physically building but in this time and age, we are the temple of God and He has His commandments written in our hearts. 2 Corinthians 6:16 puts it this way “And what agreement hath the temple of God with idols? for ye are the temple of the living God; as God hath said, I will dwell in them, and walk in them; and I will be their God, and they shall be my people”

  • Because I do not believe that Water Baptism is still relevant in this age we are living in, I do not see myself as a Christian. Christians still believe that such "symbolic" thing should still be observed. A closer look at Matthew 3:1-2; Luke 3:3 and Acts 19:4 shows that John the Baptist came baptizing in water and preaching about the Holy Ghost. At his time, it was allowed but now that the Spirit has come the symbols should be done away with. Ephesians 4:5-6 says “one Lord, one faith, one baptism, one God, and one Father of all, who is above all, and through all, and in you all. Water baptism is not IN the believers in Christ, it is the Spirit which baptizes us into the Body that is IN us now.

  • When I was a Christian, I believed that God is One Person in three Personalities (Trinity). Now I know that God the Father and Jesus are God. The Holy Ghost (Holy Spirit, Comforter etc) is God's Spirit that links Jesus to the Father and also Children of God to their Father and Jesus.

  • Christians believes that angels are messengers of God whom they can send to go before God and submit their requests on their behalf. Born Again non-Christians know Angels as Messengers that only take directives from God to man and not the other way round. Non-Christian believers know that Angels do not have wings but are like humans! (Genesis 16:7, 9-11; 19:1-19; 22:11; 31:11)

  • I do not believe that I have already received my salvation. While on the earth I am born again and I am kept by the power of God's Spirit to walk righteously in my Father's Will. 1 Peter 1:9 says: Receiving the end of your faith, even the salvation of your souls.

  • If a man is a Christian, the Pope is his father, even if that man hates the Pope, because the Pope is the head of Christianity, not Christ!

  • I do not count myself to belong to a religion its ministers only milks its people through pledges, donations etc and do not feed them back spiritually that they can produce more.

  • Christianity is a religion that judges growth by the number one "church" has on its membership list. God that I follow is not a God of numbers.

Also when I asked my pastor What is a "non-Christian" Servant of the Lord Jesus Christ is, this is what he had to say:

A non-Christian servant of the Lord Jesus is one who has rejected the religion of "Christianity" in obedience to the will of God. Christianity claims to be the Church, but upon close examination, the sincere will find that it is not. The Church is not a "religion", but is the body of Jesus Christ, consisting of members which God has baptized into it through the holy Ghost (1Cor.12:13). Christianity is therefore an abomination to God, because it's traditions, doctrines, ceremonies, and divisions are contrary to the Spirit of God, and contrary to the truth which Jesus teaches to his followers.

For this reason, God is calling His people (all who have received the baptism of the holy Ghost, with the evidence of speaking in other tongues), to abandon or "come out" of every sect, denomination, and part of Christianity everywhere (Rev.18:1-5). In 1993 we thought we were alone in hearing this "call of the Spirit", but to our own surprise, we are meeting people around the world who are hearing the same call!

We who have obeyed God, and "come out" of Christianity are not rebels. We did not "come out" because it was an idea of our own. We came out because we are submissive to the leading of the Spirit which Jesus suffered to make available for His people; that they might worship God in Spirit and in truth.

Choose you this day whom you will serve. It is either Christ or Christianity. The choice is all yours!
