Seek First His Kingdom
The gospel of Jesus as He spoke to me over the last weekend was a simple one. His message to all is Seek ye FIRST the KINGDOM of God (Matthew 6:33). He went ahead to tell us in Romans 14:17 to tell us “For the kingdom of God is not meat and drink; but righteousness, and peace, and joy in the Holy Ghost. Meat and drink here speaks of ceremonies and carnal, earthly things. Jesus taught me that if people can just obey Him and just seek the Kingdom (Holy Ghost) all would be well. His heart cry is that people will concentrate and give more attention to finding the Holy Ghost as He died for them to have It. He informed me that if they find It, they will not debate about whether ceremonies (wedding, water baptism, holy communion etc) were needed would not have been needed. This is so because once one is in the Kingdom, the joy, righteousness and the power of God in that kingdom will be so much that people will not even have the time to debate about ceremonies. Amen. The truth of the matter is that the whole bible (Genesis to Revelation), men of God of old, the disciples, the apostles and Jesus Christ Himself points people to the kingdom of God. All over the pages of the bible are signs and instructions on how to enter therein. And to show how important it is that one seeks to enter into the kingdom, Jesus while on the earth was in that Kingdom. Remember where He said that “which I see my Father do (in the Kingdom), that I do on the earth also”. If no one had been shown the way out of the Kingdom, it speaks volume on how important it is for us to seek it and to remain in it. I remember what Paul once said that people should not start in the spirit and end up in the flesh. One need to think why should Jesus sum up all His mission, purpose for doing all He did for us under “to seek His Father’s Kingdom” and not to join a church (Christian denomination), go after riches, go after miracles etc. It is because once someone is in His Father’s kingdom, they will be able to speak one thing, be of one mind. In His kingdom, the blessings follow His people, miracles follow His people and not His people going after miracles. In His kingdom, He is our Hero, King, Senior Brother, our Source, our Fountain of our Living Water, our banner and all in all, He is our everything. In His Father’s kingdom, the bible’s old testament books compliment rather than contradict the new testament. In His Father’s Spirit our life, our thinking, our past, our weakness, our negativity are transformed and changed for His benefit. In His Father’s kingdom, we can stand and say “it is no longer we that liveth for the life we now live in the flesh, we live by the grace of the Son of God who so much loved us and gave His life for us” Amen.
Just like what the angel asked the women that came to the tomb where Jesus was buried, “why seek ye the dead among the living?” we will know that to serve the physical Jesus is a waste of our time. This is true because in His Father’s Kingdom, we will hear His Spirit saying “wherefore henceforth know we no man after the flesh: yea though we have known Christ after the flesh, yet now henceforth know we Him no more (2 Corinthians 5:16). Remember there is no denomination because God is Spirit and in spirit (in His Kingdom) there is no division/denomination. As there is no division, it also means no strive or struggles exist therein.
This thing about seeking His kingdom reminds me of how over the weekend also, He took me to the book of Ruth without my planning to read it. That book I think I have read before, but now it is different, new and beautiful. I wished the book was more than just the four chapters that it came to be. I believe that the Holy Spirit made it that short so that we can just see the message therein for what it is. In that book, it was not the story about Naomi, Ruth and others that I saw therein. I saw God prophesying what we (non-Christians) are doing now. It was beautiful to see the words of Ruth telling Naomi that I am not after carnal things like the other wife. I saw Ruth saying to Naomi, I am not following you for what you have physically or how you look in the physical, I am after what is in the INSIDE of you which is your God. The same is the reason why we all notwithstanding how far physically we are from each other love one another, encouraging one another, praying, thinking good for one another because of nothing but God’s Kingdom in us. Amen
Ruth was after the God that can restore to His people that which the cankerworm has eaten. It was a book that showed Ruth going from her comfort zone (country, people, gods etc) to where she is not sure of the future only that God will help her. You can call her a female Abraham just like we all are Abraham’s in a way people who go by feelings of the Spirit of God. The book shows that God honoured her faith by blessing her with physical blessings, gave her a husband and the most beautiful of them all is that our Lord Jesus has His root from her. What else can anyone ask for in life than to be related to God for Him to count you worthy for His son to came from your root?
